Should I start in the Cabaret, Bar or Casino?

Each room offers a unique introduction to our underground club. The bar offers drama, the casino comedy and the cabaret spectacle. It’s entirely up to you. Don’t worry, you won’t be there for too long – this is where you’ll start your visit, but over the course of the night you will have the opportunity to explore every part of The Speakeasy.

Why are there so many different ticket prices?

We offer a range of prices, so we can welcome a range of people! As with most theatres, the higher-priced tickets feature better seating locations. The higher end of our price range also includes earlier entry times, so you can enjoy The Speakeasy even longer.

Should I reserve a seat in the cabaret?

Every ticket, except standing room tickets (Cabaret Mezzanine, all Casino admissions), includes a reserved seat for the first part of the night. If you know you want to watch Parts 2 or 3 in the Cabaret, you may choose to reserve a booth or table for an additional $10-30 per person. That way, you’ll stroll right past the riff raff and take your place in some of the best seats in the house.

What’s this Club Entry option?

Club Entry tickets provide entry to the venue at 8:35pm. The performance will already be in progress, but you’ll still have plenty of time to explore the world of The Speakeasy.

What if the date I want is not available?

If tickets for your preferred performance are no longer available online, they may still be available via the box office. Please call 415-967-2227 for last minute availability.

Can I buy same-day tickets? Is there a box office I can visit?

Same day tickets are available online until 4pm. After that, you can call the box office at 415-967-2227 to check availability. There is no physical box office, and same-day sales close through all channels at 7:30 pm.

Are there any age restrictions?

Our illicit gin joint allows attendees aged 16 and up.  Guests underage must be accompanied with an adult over the age of 21.  Please note the The Speakeasy includes dark themes. Discretion is advised.

Why are some of your prices listed in cents?

If you pulled out a twenty dollar bill in 1923, you’d be buying a round of drinks for the entire bar. To keep you in the world of the play, all prices at the venue are listed in cents. When you get your bill, you will discover that one cent in 1923 equals one dollar today.

Why do I have to set up a bar tab in advance?

Credit cards did not exist in 1923, and if you pulled out a twenty dollar bill, you’d be buying drinks for the entire bar. Our secure bar tab system preserves the carefully cultivated atmosphere of The Speakeasy, and ensures a smooth experience for all visitors.

We automatically open tabs for patrons who saved their credit card as part of the check-out process. If you didn’t pay for the tickets but you’d like to pay for your drinks, or if you want to change the credit card on file, click here.

What are my chances of winning big in the Casino?

Life is full of chances, and our casino is no different. However, our card and dice games are for entertainment purposes only, so when all is said and done, the chips stay on the table. We offer blackjack, craps and roulette with professionally trained dealers, who are happy to assist inexperienced players. For $10 you’ll get a bag of chips.

Where is The Speakeasy?

We can’t divulge that information to you just yet. You’ll receive further instructions the night before your visit at 5PM. What we can say, is that it is somewhere in a discreet location where North Beach and Chinatown coalesce, in the heart of San Francisco.

What are the parking and transit options?

Many of our guest choose public transportation, ridesharing, or taxi service (our drinks are very strong!). Our location is about 15 minutes walk from Montgomery BART, and accessible on Muni lines 8, 10, 12, 30, 41, and 45. If you would like to drive, there are several conveniently located parking garages, including the Vallejo Street Garage, the North Beach Garage, and the Portsmouth Square Garage.

What time does the evening end?

Most nights, the action continues until the booze runs out. But patrons have been known to leave any time between 9:30 pm and 11:15 pm.

Is there really a dress code?

Yes. To allow our guests to be fully immersed, our dress code is strictly enforced. 1920’s apparel is preferred; cocktail attire is REQUIRED. Absolutely no tennis shoes, yoga pants, T-shirts, denim, or other casual clothes are allowed. Cocktail attire includes a button down collared shirt and tie with slacks and dress shoes; or cocktail style dresses and dress shoes.

Costumes and accessories are available for rent and purchase. See our costume rental page or contact The Dressing Room at

Do you offer group discounts?

We do not. The intimate nature of the show’s multiple storylines and unfolding secrets are best experienced individually or in small groups. For bookings of more than 6 persons, we strongly recommend starting in different locations, seeing where the night takes you, and comparing notes when everything is said and done. To book as a group of more than 10, contact our box office at

Is The Speakeasy accessible for those with disabilities?

Yes. Please book your reservation in any seating section, then call 415-891-9744 or email us at to arrange accessible entry.
